Claimelo

About Claimelo

Claimelo exists because of an information imbalance: insurance companies value thousands of claims a year with data and software, while the injured person values exactly one — theirs — with no reference points. We publish the reference points.

Our methodology

Our settlement ranges are compiled from court records and industry sources: published verdict and settlement reports, insurance industry claim data, and state statutes. Our calculators implement the multiplier method used across the insurance industry, adjusted for each state's comparative negligence rules and damage caps.

Every number we publish is a range, never a promise. Real outcomes depend on evidence, available insurance coverage, venue, and negotiation — variables no calculator can capture.

Who writes this

Claimelo is researched and written by the Claimelo Editorial Team, which specializes in consumer-facing explanations of the injury claim process. The team compiles state statutes, published verdict and settlement reports, and insurance industry data, and converts them into the ranges and rules you see on each page. Every state-law page shows the statute it relies on and the date it was last reviewed. Pages are being progressively reviewed by a licensed attorney (J.D.); a "Reviewed by" credit appears on each page once that review is complete. We publish no sponsored content and accept no payment to alter the information on any page.

How we make money

When you request a free case review, we connect you with participating personal injury attorneys, who pay us for the introduction. This costs you nothing and never affects the information we publish. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.

General information, not legal advice. Attorney advertising. Claimelo is not a law firm. This page is a starting point: deadlines, liability rules, exceptions, and available damages depend on the facts and the law in effect when the event occurred. Do not delay or decide not to pursue a claim based only on this website. A licensed attorney can apply the law to your situation.
